There is a problem in my back yard. A colony of ants is increasing in size and the anthill is above the grass level. What is showing is about two feet in diameter.

This creates a problem if mowing a lawn. I nipped it the last time cutting. What can I do to at least get my yard under control. I have a two year old and don't want to use any toxic substances. There are a lot of woodpiles in the neighborhood, we have had a lot of rain. What can I do?
