I have a million pavement ants inbetween the bricks in our ground level brick patio that are not taking to the KM ant pro I put out...but they loved it when they came in for the first time in the basement this winter.

I saw a swarm of carpenter ants heading to the house and up the one step on that patio and seemed to go under the flashing of the patio door and under the shingles. I was hoping they would go to the KM ant pro as advertised but one or two did and then no more. The giant flying (and walking ones scared me). Then I started to see a few giants a day in the kitchen and basement...one went in my utensil drawer. I got some outdoor Terro and put one out right by the step and first saw the pavement ants on it and today it is covered with the carpenter ants that are going back and forth from under the shingles there and the bait. Does that mean I have a nest in the house. We had the slider replaced 3 years ago and any rotten wood taken out - anyway that is what they were supposed to do. I then moved the KM ant pro with gourmet bait over by the Terro as it holds 19 oz. and put a little on the outside to entice them. Two went on and in it and then nothing. Not sure if the liquid has leaked out and it is empty as it has to be level. It has been raining so any residue on the outside may have been washed off. I do not want to move it again and disturb the ants on the Terro next to it so I wonder if I took a long blade of grass and stuck it in the opening if I could find out if it is empty. Is it OK to mix the 2 - they are both boric acid formulas.

Also, by having the baits by the house can that attract the rest of any ants in the area to the house and make our problem even worse or am I doing the right thing. Looking to sell the house in the future because I am sick and need something on one level (multilevel house) and can't do that with carpenter ants. I am also allergic to pesticides. Have to get rid of them somehow. Also have a serious fly by crow problem and there is feces all over that I am throwing bleach and water on on the driveway and soapy water on in the mulch and grass and wiping off the one side of the house where I can reach as I am elderly and my immune system is supressed and have to be careful.

Please help....I am really overwhelmed.

Thanks much.
