Thanks, yeah, re: Termidor, I thought it was interesting. He came sprayed the concrete foundation all around the house, and said that anything that walks through that band is as good as dead. Hours later, my wife and I returned from our daily walk (hey, it's Vermont!) and I noticed a trail of *tiny* ants from the base of the foundation making their way up to the clapboard on the side of the garage. Apparently, they hadn't read about Termidor! lol. As for the green stuff, yeah, makes sense (green = expensive, in general). But he also used some sticky/sweet stuff to "augment" my existing ant traps, and whatever it was, the ants like it. I climbed up on the counter to do the wooden beams (he was a bit of a geezer--and heck, I'm almost 50!) and I saw an ant next to me and held up the tip of the nozzle--the fearless ant made a beeline for the nozzle and took a long time on the bead I'd left on the post.
In general, though, I thought he was a bit lazy--didn't wanna do upstairs because they "seemed to have been driven downstairs" by my previous days' spraying/trapping. Today, they're wandering around upstairs, seeming to die off shortly after they arrive. He didn't think there was a nest, because there aren't that many. Of course, they want me to continue to do treatments every other month for the next 6 months--just to be sure...What do you think? Thanks again, as usual.
