Sealing against CAs is pretty difficult, they can get in almost anywhere. Not that I'm trying to discourage that, go ahead and give it a shot. Don't use store-bought OTC insecticides, though, they are all repellents and you risk trapping the ants inside. If anything, and indoor/outside treatment with Termidor/Phantom usually does the trick for the entire season. Talk to your exterminator about it.
