John-

I have a small 1960s ranch style home and I recently found evidence of a carpetner ant nest above a bedroom window. Frass and dead ants from the nest have fallen onto the window sill through a small gap between the aluminum framed window and the wood frame of the sill. I've also located a small crack in my outside brickwork about 15-20 feet from the window where the ants are entering and exiting the house.

My question is: Now what? I'm not sure how big the nest is, and there is no visible evidence of any water damage above the interior or exterior of the window. I don't want to go foraging around my attic for either one right now because I live in Texas and needless to say it can get a little warm up there in July and August.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
