I just found your site searching for info on my ant problem. I am unfamiliar with Carpenter Ant problems and find your site interesting. I have lived in the upper midwest on a heavily wooded lot for 5 years now and never seen a Carpenter Ant in the house until this spring when one day I was outside and noticed ants coming from every direction. They were crawling up and down three sides of the house and going in just about every nook & cranny they could find. I couldn't believe my eyes!! At about the same time, they started crawling about inside the house in three or four areas. The exterminator came out and sprayed the perimeter. It slowed it down and reduced the activity for several weeks, but it seems to have picked up again. Will things ever go back to the way they were now that the ants have gotten a taste of the house? The exterminator doesn't think there's a colony in the structure, but that they are coming from outside and wandering in. Also, it's too tough to search for nests in the dense woods.
Your comments would be greatly appreciated.
