I have capenter ants in my oak tree about 20 feet from my home. They are in a knot hole about 7 feet up the trunk. I have read all the material on your site and I understand that they do no harm to the tree and if I do get ride of them they will just return in about a year or less. But my concern is that I am seeing about 25 to 50 ants in my house a day and hundreds around my outside trash cans and dog food bowl and thats during the day. At night there at just too many to count around the trash and in the mulch flower bed in front of the house under the tree. I am worried about them starting a satellite colany in my house because I have seen so many more apear over the last few months. What would be your suggestion to my problem?
