And, of course, it's always possible to have a hidden problem. There aren't too many houses that don't have ants SOMEWHERE.... Take any house apart, brick by brick, board by board, and you'll almost always find ants hiding in there somewhere. Often without causing any problem and not making themselves known. Lots of hiding spots in all houses.
I think the "no panic" approach is the best. Keeps you from making some kind of rash decision and spending a bunch of money for nothing.
In the back of your mind, if you continue to have a problem, that the Termidor/Phantom treatment is almost designed for the problem. It is a tricky treatment, sometimes, so you'll need someone with experience using it.
