John 2 subject questions
I haven't seen any carpenter ants all summer since that spring "episode" but the other day noticed a bit of ruddy color "sand like substance" on the floor where the wall meets the floor. It is under where the brick patio is outside and a window had been covered over with bricks, cement and paint DUH....stupid former owners. Have been watching that spot after cleaning it up and haven't seen any more YET but if I do is it too late to use Termidor outside and what does frass look like.
The other thing is the pavement ants had just about disappeared using the gourmet liquid all summer but recently there are more mounds in my brick patio again and no one seems to be visiting the ant baits. Do they not eat this time of year or are thy tired of that diet? I just took everything in because we are going to be hit with Hanna and hopefully NOT Ike and was going to put them out again. Since I took them away will it give them time to get over their eating fettish and go back to eating the Gourmet???? Don't want them in the house again this winter...the ground never froze over last winter and they woke up mid winter hungry too. They were even swarming in February thinking it was spring.
Thanks for your help and advice -- that gourmet stuff was really working..don't know what happened. We actually had our patio back and the grandkids were able to use their wading pool and play out there without getting ants all over their toys.
