We just experienced some of the latest hurricane, Hannah. And a very large section of our tree came down with the winds. It was obvious the cause was from Carpenter Ants.....they had almost hollowed out a HUGE portion of the tree which of course weakened the crook of the tree where the ants were. We now have a huge hole that exposed a major amount of muddy saw dust from the ants. Will it help to fill this hold with cement. I'm concerned I'm going to lose the entire tree if something isn't done to stop the ants! The only problem with filling the hole with cement _is_ the ants are not only below the hole, but high above the hole in the tree also.
