We moved into our home 3.5years ago. I thought there was an extremely large amount of ants on our driveway. My husband said "it's Bridgewater, your going to see bugs!" Well, each year it's gets worse and last summer I noticed the sawdust-like piles near our garage under the house and insisted something be done since now I fear they will infest the house. He started spraying and a ton of ants came out, he pulled off the framing and thousands of ants came out (we ran out of spray!! of course) we called and exterminator who sprayed the foundation & perimeter. It quieted down for a few weeks but then came back. I now see more & more going into and around the railroad ties they we have along the driveway about a 50' x 4' wall and another by my backyard about 20'x 2' wall, we sprayed the wall one day with a pesticide you connect to the hose and hundreds of ants came out, slowed them down once again but they were soon abundant as ever- my question is can I paint these ties, will that help keep the ants out of them, and how can I get inthere? Should I dust into every nook & cranny of these large walls? I worry about the constant use of pesticides (that don't fix the problem) because I have two young children. I just want to get rid of them for good!!! Please any advice would save me from up and moving as I am at my witts end with these things!
