As far as "DIY," probably not. These are chemicals that are supposed to be applied by professionals. Besides, you'd have to purchase amounts that are much larger than you would ever use. And the equipment to use them is expensive also.

But I believe it would probably be the answer to your problem! Log structures are especially conducive to this sort of thing, BTW. I have done several, with total success, and had it last (at least) the entire season, for all intents and purposes.
