Yes my hubby likes to leave a window upstairs cracked open a bit when we are there and not there - during the warmer months. Likes to air things out. The place honestly never smells musty even when closed up for months at a time and even though we do have a dirt cellar. We have the dirt covered with plastic. Don't see ants down there though although I don't hang down there much either. We ventilate that area very well during the summer months.
We are in upstate NY. I was thinking Albany would be the closest place to have a good pest control person but it would be a very long drive. We are west of the Port Henry area although not that far up...you know off that dirt road five miles and turn right at the rock outcrop...you get the idea. Maybe someone in the Lake George or Warrensburg area you would recommend? Still a drive but better than Albany.
When would be the optimum time of year to have this treatment done? Hubby usually sprinkles granules around the outside permiter end of April after the melt and coming to the end of the mud season. I guess he shouldn't do that if we are doing the treatment?
You have been a huge help. Dittos to you on all the grand comments.
