I usually see good results between a week or two...one of the stages of ants, they are in a cocoon and are protected. Could be just by chance you saw some of the emerging ants that had not had a chance for the termidor to do them in yet.

Also a possibility that a new colony has moved in the area and it would take a few days for them to be killed out.
