Ok, Joanne, first of all, where are you located? (City, state.)
What do you do? Kinda depends on exactly how you’re going to solve the water/window problems. If you’re getting all new windows, make sure you get really good ones. Windows that are built for that kind of use, or even custom made.
Don’t do ANY kind of control BEFORE the window repairs. You want to know EXACTLY the problem(s). The only way you may know that is if and when you discover any infestation(s) during repairs. Yes, the vacuum should be standing by, chemical applications are not required or advised during repairs.
When all is complete, you will have a good idea of the extent of the problem. At that time you can make a decision on a Termidor/Phantom treatment to the inside/outside of the property. You do not need a “contract” and you shouldn’t need a continuing service. The T/P treatment is generally and once-per-season treatment. Properly applied, it will work an entire season - and sometimes more than one season.
Dump the contents of the vacuum outside! Don’t spray Raid or other insecticides into a vacuum.
