Last March we had shower tile repair done in upstair bath. When damaged tile was removed the tile man discovered a ant nest and asked me for bug spray. He sprayed the ants.(I had no idea they should have been vaccumed.) He removed and replaced the damaged dry wall (but I don't know if there was wet wood and if he removed it) A few days after repair we started getting ants in bathroom/bedroom, and family room below(about 5 per day). I had a exterminator come out and he sprayed inside and put some kind of granular on the outside. Our ant problem disappeared.
Now this April we are starting to get ants again in the same areas (about 5 per day that I've seen)
l. Why do you say to vaccum the ants instead of spraying?
2. Do you think there is wet wood in our shower and that is why we are getting ants one year later? If so, can that be determined without removing the tile again.
Thank you for your advise and time.
