Hey, Tym. How's tricks? Long time, no hear....
The ants? Man, this year they've been a bitch. Just about every call we've gotten in the last couple of weeks has been ants. It's because of the weather. Not only do we have the normal spring invasions, but the constant rain has increased the problem. In fact, the first desk in our office has seen a parade of ants in the last week. Da noive!
As far as YOUR ants are concerned, I would just HATE to recommend cutting down any tree. Unless it's dangerous, I wouldn't want to do it. Naturally, that's your choice, and if it's really close, and has that many ants, yes, it COULD affect what you're seeing - or not. That will take some nighttime detective work on your part.
Ease up on the chemical applications. The wrong ones can easily TRAP the insects inside the house, seeing as how most of them are repellants.
If you do (or have done) any chemical applications, you should consider having an outside treatment with Termidor. It is a NON-repellant, and can easily end that problem without trapping any on the inside. The right application can end the problem on the outside AND the inside - probably for the entire season. Matter of fact, that ended our problem on that desk just by treating the outside just opposite that desk, if you can remember our office situation.
So, if you'll remind me where, exactly, you are, possibly I can recommend someone for you. Or, if your travels take you near here, I'd be glad to fill your sprayer with an appropriate substance, just let me know before you come.
Glad to help out a 'preferred customer.'
And, yes, I am a Star Trek fan. Saw all of the TV shows and most of the movies. Looking forward to seeing the new one, especially after reading the review in the NY Times.
