Spring is here and the pavement ants are back on the patio and up against the foundation. There is a lot of sand right where the brick patio and foundation meet and are crawling on the foundation.
I had mice in up in the rafters behind the sewer pipe where I could not get at and had a wildlife company catch them, check outside for holes (found a lot), sealed up the holes under the siding and then cleaned up the nest and vacuumed all around the basement up there. They did such a gtod job I did not get pavement ants in this winter like the previous 2 winters. I also have not seen any carpenter ants at all this spring. I had that army descend upon me carrying luggage last spring.
I just had an exterminator come out and I had to actually request Termidor (said they usually don't use it)and look and he wanted to do it now but I said I would call. I just wanted the outside foundation done but he wanted to do around the doors and windows also and along the eaves.
I called the Termidor people and they said it is approved for around doors and windows but not up in the eaves. Anyway, would just doing the foundation be enough being they would have to walk through it to go up the house. I do not have any bushes touching the house and I have about 4" of stone against the foundation before the mulch and in the back of the house the siding is about 1/2 inches from the ground (stone).
Sorry this is so long. I am thinking of having someone else come out also to see what he says.
Thanks for this website and your help.
