Take the inside window trim/frame apart and see what's going on. Have the shop-vac handy for any ants. Check for leaks and leave it open for awhile to see if it leaks when it rains. Put it back with screws so you can take it apart easily if you need to do this again.

Notice I mention nothing about insecticides....
