Pick up some granular insecticide at the garden store, (any of the pyroids - pyrethrum - there are several) make sure it has "ants" on the label, and sprinkle it in your beds. It only lasts a short time and it isn't a systemic, which means that it won't infiltrate the plants. You can sweep some in between the bricks and water the stuff in. You might have to apply a couple of times, do it after about 5-6 days if the first application doesn't do the trick.
Make sure the granular is fresh, squeeze the bax,box to make sure it isn't lumpy. It should feel like sugar. Don't buy more than you will need in one season, it does have a shelf life. Keep it in a dark place ut of any humid conditions. Best would be a tight-fitting tin.
