Thanks alot for the peace of mind. I have been trying to observe these ants for about an hour today, and quite honestly, it's worse than watching paint dry. I did notice about 5 carpenter ants make their way from the telephone pole to my house by using the wires...After they make the journey over the wires, they climb on the siding of my house. Actually I only saw the ants on the one side of my house and I'm only talking about 10 max during the 1 hour borefest. I was out there from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. I didn't actually see any enter my house, but I'm figuring they probably come in thru the windows. I went to the store and bought the indoor and outdoor Terro Liquid Ant Baits. I placed the outdoor baits on the side of the house where I saw all the activity. The inside baits were placed between window glass and screen. I also put one on the floors of my bathrooms behind each toilet. Good idea, or am I wasting time? If this doesn't work, I think I read that you are located in Cherry Hill...do you make calls to Pitman? Seriously??? I have 3 year old twin boys and I'm not really liking these ants crawling around. They also don't like them...I can tell by their yells for mom or dad when they see one...YIKES! I know I don't really have a big problem, for instance I only saw 2 in the house today, but I don't want to have ants crawling on me or my kids.
I've checked gutters, crawlspace, attic and haven't any evidence of "nests", but I'm not a professional and am not sure what I"m looking for. However since I didn't see an ant, I'm figuring there's no nest. Like I said in my earlier post, we only see these ants randomly, and have yet to see a "group" of them at the same time. It's always just 1 wandering ant.
