Well, I have seen Termidor applied outside, kill ALL of the ants inside, many times.

It actually depends on what kind of ants are in the window frame. If they are isolated, with no other contacts, they could perhaps survive. I think that is unlikely, however, and since you KNOW where they are, and can check it at any time, I would tend to agree with him. Give it a month or so.
