They aren't eating it, they're removing it. It's an old building and it's to be expected. As a matter of fact, our own building is 135 years old and we have a brick foundation with the very same problem. I don't worry about it, you shouldn't either.

However, if you want it treated, you should have an exterminator spray the outside foundation with Termidor, it's an outside treatment only. Although I have to tell you, I haven't treated the outside of our building and I can get the exterminator for FREE.....

The best cure, of course, is to have it tuckpointed, which neither of us can afford, what with all that's going on today!
