I live in Canada and I am 99% sure I have pharoah ants in my apartment building. They have pretty much gotten to a point where there are in EVERYTHING. I have noticed them in every room except the bedroom, although i have seen them in the bedroom closet. Our landlord has been notified and they said someone will be coming in three times a week to get rid of them. I do have some questions though.
1. we will be moving in about a month how do we ensure we do not take them with us? i have been carefully inspecting everything that has been getting packed, moving packed boxes into my parents garage and i am thinking about spraying the outside of the boxes and our furniture on moving day. are these good/bad ideas and is there anything else i can do?
2.i noticed some going into the baits that i had set up, if they go in are they taking the bait or just fooling around in there because now they seem to be ignoring it altogether.
3. If i left boxes out in the cold that had ants in it would they die? and if i sprayed them directly with insecticide would they die? i know you don't spray the walls because they can spread, but what about when we are moving if i spray boxes?
thanks for any info
