Hi, I live in Michigan and it's winter now and we're starting to see carpenter ants in our home again. I've read your ant page and appreciate the valuable information. Like you say, I don't see a tons of them, but there was a time they were in the dishwasher several times, then that stopped and now we see about a dozen a day in random areas around the kitchen. They dont seem to go in the dishwaher anymore. I don't see or think I have a moisture problem so I'm not sure what is making them so attracted to our kitchen or where they are coming from. The worst time was when some came out of my cereal box as I poured it into my bowl. My wife and daughter wants to call an exterminator, but I don't think it's necessary yet. I'm thinking they will just go away in time, but is there anything I can do to speed that up? It's hard to find any over-the-counter chemical that really works and kills specifically carpenter ants.
Any help is appreciated...Thanks.
