If you can, remove the trim outside too. As far as the 1-10 deal is concerned, a "problem" like this is mostly no big deal. Just remove the ants you can find, make sure there's no leaks, and put everything back with SCREWS, so you can check again.

I think, if you can, leave the trim off (inside) for awhile and check occasionally. I have a customer that had the same type of problem, he put his trim back on with Velcro. It's still there, several years later. You can't even tell.
