I think I have a small C ant problem. I live in the chicagoland area. We had flooding in our basement in Sept of 2008. Not much but enough to soak our carpets. Saw some C ants last year (2009), and now they are back. One and two at a time for a week or so then over this past weekend I killed 20+, some with wings some without. Most in the finished basement. I may have a small moisture problem that I plan on fixing. I've been reading and studying C ants over the past couple of days. Can you validate my approach for getting permanently rid of these things (wife is about to freak out)?

1. Bait the inside with MaxForce C Ant Gel
2. Wait a week or so and apply the one/two punch of Termidor(outside) and Phantom(inside)

In one of the posts you mention that One/two punch of Termidor and Phantom should only be done by professionals. What I've read about the termidor doesn't sound to complicated. Fill new sprayer with correct amounts of termidor and spray exterior of builder 2-3 feet around windows, doors and foundation. Not sure about the Phantom.

What are your thoughts? Can I do this myself?
