We're in Spartanburg, SC. We haven't spoken with other exterminators. We have coverage with Terminix, something I'm beginning to realize might have been a mistake since it's not like they take care of anything when you need them to. However, I digress. We haven't had time to schedule a second opinion, but it's definitely something we will do.
The roof facing is apparently the boards that the gutters are attached to on the house. On the back of our home there are no gutters now. The house looks single story from the front, but there's a full basement so on the back there's a two story drop. The exterminator said there used to be gutters (how he knows that I have no idea), and that not having them now is a problem, which may be true. He said that the gutters that were there probably sat full of leaves, debris and water for long periods creating damp wood. This created the environment for the CAs to invade. However, my question is do we just need to replace that wood, or could they be living in the whole roof between the ceiling and the roof? What type of individual would you recommend to give us an honest evaluation? A contractor, another exterminator? This is so overwhelming, thank you for your advice.
