Okay. We are about 40 miles north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is a 50 year old raised ranch home with the main living space located over a garage and partially finished basement. Directly below the problem area is the unheated garage.

We have not yet contacted the exterminator or the Realtor. We assumed because the pest report came back as 'no evidence of wood destroying insects' that the problem had manifested shortly after we bought the property. Like I mentioned earlier, we had noticed ants over the summer, but had attributed them to scouting insects. The land we bought does have several large pine trees and is surrounded by fields and woodlands.
