Okay, here I am again, almost a year to the day of my last post. And guess what? The ants are back! Nothing has changed--I still believe we have a seasonal problem that began with the first patch of mild weather. The ants are sporadic but frequent (i.e., only ever seen in ones or twos, never a line of ants, but I do see individuals whenever I enter the kitchen or bathroom directly above the kitchen).
I called the exterminators that I talked to last year to get details of their system. The products that they are are not the Termidor/Phantom products that you recommend. Instead they use the following which I looked up to find out their contents:
-Prelude (Permethrin. liquid)
-Ficam-D (Bendiocarb, dust)
-Drax ant gel (Boric acid)
What is the advantages/disadvantages of these over Termidor and Phantom? Should I keep looking for someone who will use those products, assuming they are even available in Canada?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
