I'm just curious about their behavior. I know they get all riled up due to the weather and its obvious they are everywhere outside. They enter a home looking for food(I guess that is their motive). Now in every house-if you look hard enough-you will find a crumb that fell under the fridge or something else to their liking. Will this keep them coming back or do they lose interest in your house once the weather subsides. I know they leave scent trails for their fellow ants. By killing the invaders when they first enter, they obviously don't return to the nest. Does this send an unending trail of replacements following their trail and looking for them or does this discourage them to enter since their predecessors didn't return? I know you are not an ant mindreader and I know these questions sound ridiculous. I'm just freaked out by all of this and you seem like you know all of their habits. Sorry to be a pest(no pun intended) and thanks for all of your help.
