You helped me a couple years ago with a carpenter ant problem. I found a good guy exterminator, had them spray and it solved my problem.
I just recently posted on the main board about a potential roach in my brand new home (still haven't heard back from the local agency with an id yet :( ... but now I'm wondering about something else. I have been seeing quite a few carpenter ants on my house - I've seen a few in the house too - but i see them burrowing up under the siding on the front of the house. It looks like they're trailing there. We also have a massive tiny (sweet?) ant problem. I know this is a bad year for bugs, and there are millions of ants in the dirt around our house (no lawn yet... soon!) I don't think the carpenter ants are a problem yet as I haven't seen more than maybe 10-15 in the house, but I dont' want them to become one, and the sweet ants are a nuisance (my husband lit a mound in the driveway on fire for kicks!). Just wondering if I should have termidor sprayed just to kill them off a bit? I don't think the phatom would be necessary, but did that last time. What can I do to prevent the carpenter ants from making a home in my new house? My father-in-law told me to go buy insect spray, but I have a feeling you will say a big NO to that idea - right? I have terro out for the sweet ants, but not sure it's doing much. advice?
