Above is just open floor joists (house is only 2 months old-since completion) I can see live ones that crawl in from under the insulation in the wall (which is sheathed). I find the dead ants all along the exterior walls of the basement really, but mostly on the one wall/corner of the basement. A few here and there and then a bunch in this one maybe 4x 6 ft area - it's not like it's a little pile, they're scattered. If I move my kids toys in that area I'll even find dead ants underneath them

Plus it's not just dead sweet ants, but also the occasional other dead insect as well. That's why I thought maybe the epoxy on the floor was poisoning them or something. I haven't touched the dead ants down there in a few days already, and I am planning on leaving it be til the exterminator comes.
