I was doing some research last night and found a few local guys that offer advice on their website some you can tell are looking to scare you and some that seem to want to help.We do know a real estate agent and I will have hubby contact him.

Now for the ants. I of course could not sleep last night. I was up till 1:30 walking through the house with a flashlight stepping on those damn things. There were a few in the basement, one upstairs (hubby was sleeping so I only checked once). In our converted garage where they had seemed to be staying out of I killed about 8. But in the main part of the house I killed 73. The activity seems to stem from about 2.5 feet from the front door, along the heater rail in the living room to the rail in the dining room a lot of activity along this heater rail. Then they appear in the dinette area along the sliding back door. On the other side of the front door they run along the floor down the hall into the kitchen area. These ants seem to have no goal in mind they run to one end of the room and then turn around and go back, turn again and do the same thing. Some of them seem a bit sick but others look really well. Most are about the same size and look like workers to me. A few are smaller and these tend to be the ones that look a tad sick. Looking outside I saw some activity on the deck. Not much but a few out there in front of the slider.
That was my night. This morning I killed one in the dinette and one upstairs in front of the tub (hoping that was the one I missed last night.) I just went and looked around. There was one curled up on itself twitching in the hallway. STOMP. Nothing else on the main floor. Basement had two. Double STOMP. There are some dead ones lying around down in the basement also.
My thoughts are that there are some in the living room wall near the front door. Another area is by the back slider on the outside kick plate area. Our house was built in 1985, we take care of it and see no obvious water issues. But we also know sh%# happens.

Reasons I feel they moved in.
1. The weather has been really rainy and humid. The heat is oppressive here and its not yet 7 am.
2.My neighbors about 150 feet away and across the street got about 4 loads of rock, dirt and mulch about 2-3 weeks ago.
3.My hubbys thought is that I bought 12 cases of soda cans about a week ago. I stored them in the garage that is not attached to the house. Hubyy was cleaning garage and while moving some lumber came across some of these same ants. He thinks they hid in the soda which I moved into the house last Friday. Did not see any ants till Monday.
4. I seemed to have pissed of God.

Please let me know what you think we should do next. I am trying to be calm but bugs are the worse thing to me.

Hubby will be making a few calls today, but we will not do anything for a few more days at least.

Sorry so long. Thank you again.
Carolle H
