Some moisture you don't see, and often it is only dead air space they need. They do have access to moisture almost anywhere, certainly in Alaska.

Hold off on any more spraying and DON'T block the entrance yet. Wait for any more signs.

Check the outside to see why that part of the house might be at risk. Improper water handling (bad gutters) or not enough downspouts to cover the water ccould also do it.

Next rain, got outside under an umbrella or something, and watch how the water handling works on your house.

Use repellent sprays sparingly. Dusts would be better, Drione or Delta dust. I don't believe you can use Termidor in Alaska.
