Then I would trim out the foliage from around the house, and remember that these little fellows can enter ANY house, even one that seem "tight." The older it is, the less tight it is.

What you describe is just foraging workers, you'll always get a few of those, I do myself. Weather hot and sticky? That's CA weather. Can't say I've seen any in my house as of yet, but I know when I hear from my customers, that I'll be seeing some myself.

Forget the standard ant traps, they're junk. They don't work on CAs, no matter what they say.

Yes, it sounds that you are overreacting a tad, but that's okay, everybody does. Even my wife...
