1) Absolutely!

2) Possibly, but not necessarily.

3) Fipronil is a very good chem for CAs.

4) Always possible, but I certainly don't think you need to worry about it.

The insulation in the basement is really not necessary, as you see, it can hide many things. The only heat that insulation (under the floor) is really going to save is radiation - usually less than 5%. You'll lose most of your heat because it goes UP. So pull it down and eliminate those hiding place.

All in all, you did good. And you didn't even need an exterminator! Way to go! You get a gold star for not panicking, going out to Home Depot, and wasting your money on that "Home Defense" crap!
