Carpenter ants live in every tree. It's normal, they don't hurt the tree at all. They go together like love and marriage, so I don't get the point of spraying every tree. And for $2800? Seems real steep to me. For that kind of work you should always get a few prices. I think you need to talk to a licensed tree surgeon. NOTHING is that kind of emergency.

Find out what chemicals were used.
