About 2 months ago I had a large amount of water damage in my walls and found carpenter ants infested in some of the insulation. For a few weeks I was finding working ants in 1's and 2's here and there throughout the day. I laid down some Maxforce carpenter ant bait both inside and outside of my house. I have not seen an ant since around July 4th and then today i found 1 lone flying carpenter ant walking on my floor. I mean it was huge, about half an inch or so. It has the tell tale spike between the thorax. I looked on google images and I think it may have been a queen? Is there any reason to assume it would be the queen or just one huge flying ant that may be the prelude to more of them?
