Your site is wonderful! I began searching the internet for info about carpenter ants and was lucky enough to stumble across your site. We live in western New York and have had a mild winter. The past week we have had unseasonably warm temperatures, 50s and upper 60s... and ,yes, some rain. For the past several days my kids and I have killed anywhere from 5-10 large winged ants per day, almost all located upstairs. We do have a large sycamore tree in back of our house with branches close to windows. I do not ever recall seeing ants this time of year...last summer we killed 10-20 ants per day during a hot humid stretch but have had none all Fall and winter. After reading the other posts, I am guessing I should just wait and monitor. Appreciate your help.
