Like some others here, spring has come early to my area and with it came the ants. I was so disappointed to see them so early. We used to deal with them for about 2 months a year, but now it seems like the season for them is stretching to 4-5 months. I'm not panicking, but it's embarrassing when visitors are here and there are ants scuttling around every time I (or they) open the dishwasher, or roaming across the kitchen floor (and yes, house guests are due any day now).
I've phoned around, Termidor is not approved in Canada, so it's not an option for me. Everyone seems to be on the same page with the treatment program offered and the products used, even when I call the small, independent operators. I guess that's the standard practice in our area.
John my question to you is, is the practice of dusting the wall cavities via the electrical outlets, and around the plumbing stack, combined with an outdoor spraying of Permethrin likely to provide any relief? It's going to cost ~$350. I know you have said in the past that I likely don't need to do anything, but with our ant season getting longer, my tolerance is wearing thin.
