Hi John!

So, an update! I never got around to sealing off those gaps, but since my last post I hadn't seen any ants anywhere in my home. A few days ago I started some early spring cleaning in the garage, and found a bottle of Termidor. I had read about it when researching carpenter ants earlier (how I found this board!), and figured I'd make some use of it. Mixed 0.8 oz to a gallon of water, and sprayed about a foot up and away the foundation in the general area of where the ants were getting in/out.

Two days later, and I've started seeing ants again! :( I've found a few dead ones near the fireplace, and a live one roaming around before disappearing back into the gap. I know that's not a lot of ants, and I assume the Termidor is doing it's job. Now my question is, how long until I should stop seeing these guys? And if they still make appearances, should I reapply? Am I even supposed to be using this stuff or should I be leaving it to the professionals?
