hi john,

so here's that 2 week update!

In the last 2 weeks, the number of dead ants I've found in the room the ants come into has dwindled, 1 to 3 dead ants, some days nothings. A fair difference from the 5+ dead ones a day I was seeing earlier. And starting to see live ones in the house again too... Usually they're carrying out dead ones, but now they're occasionally roaming around and away from the room, usually into my kitchen (adjancent to that room). It's been three weeks since the Termidor application, and although there haven't been that many ants in my home (maybe 4 or 5 in the last 2 weeks not counting the ones throwing out the dead ones), I was hoping I wouldn't be seeing anymore at all!

So I guess I'll keep playing the waiting game. It's clear with the dead ants that the Termidor is working, just wish it'd get rid of all of them sooner! Oh and I did have one quick question, since there are live ants dragging out dead ones from that small hole behind the fireplace, is it safe to assume they've got some sort of nest going on back there? I'm waiting for my kids to get back from school in May to maybe try to patch it up, tho it'll be difficult without damaging the fireplace :(

Oh, and reading some of the other posts on this board, people with hundreds of ants, I so feel like I'm wasting your (and my) time by freaking out about a few ants a day! Sorry about that!!
