The ants were probably nesting in the deck wood and you got the overflow. For the most part, it's noting to worry about, you may see a few stragglers for a few days. Forget the "Home Defense" you get at Home Depot and other stores, most of the time this all goes away on its own.

Use pressure treated wood for replacements, where you can. Anyplace you use regular wood, make it easy to replace. Use screws.
