Hubby went out to first sweep the disturbed sand back in and around the bricks before getting any granules to put down (which he hadn't bought yet). Today he told me he saw some red ants on the edge of the patio near the mulch. He said he did not look closely but he thought they looked kind of translucent and size wise about a 1/4", or a little bigger than the tiny pavement ants.

Are all red ants fire ants??? If so, do we need something different to put down? I told him to wait until I heard back from you so we do the right thing. I am hoping there are other species of red ant in Massachusetts besides fire ants. Never saw a red ant at all here before.

Thank you.
