Hi John, I was just reading questions and answers re: carpenter ants and feel a little bit more relieved. My question: This spring I did see maybe 10 carpenter ants in house. A couple with wings. About one month ago I opened my dishwasher and about 50 carpenter ants came swarming out. I immediately closed door and and ran HOT cycle. This didn't work. I added bleach to next cycle and this DID work. Today I went into crawl space to read water meter and saw sawdust type of material on cement floor. When I looked up I saw a large amount of "sawdust on wood beam. It does not appear to be a moisture problem in crawl space as it appears dry . I did see dead ants on a window sill about 5 feet out of the crawl space. This past week we did have had a lot of rain. I live in Massachusetts. I bought Spectacide termite and carpenter ant exterminator spray and sprayed in house and outside around perimeter of house. Should I wait and see if any further sawdust appears or call an exterminator? Thank you in advance, Sharon Hilario
