Hi John. Yes I have sent a pic by e-mail. There are two places that I see evidence of the ants. First, the insulation frass is falling from the join between the ground floor ceiling where it abuts the chimney. This chimney mass divides a two story section of the house from a single story section. What I am tempted to do is remove a section of drywall in the room above where the frass is to see if there are ants there. By rights, that's where they should be, as it is directly above where I see the frass. The second place I have seen ants is, ironically in the basement by the sill where these two sections of the house join -- ie on the same line as chimney. I have had seals around the chimney checked. Is it possible the little guys come in at ground level and make their way up to the second story ...? I have spent quite a bit of time watching my roof to see where they are coming and going in/out and never see any ants around the chimney on the outside. Thoughts?
