Oh, and one more thing, John: I have definitely had a moisture issue with this part of the house. Long story, but last year we removed all the verticle siding along that side of the house (both sides of chimney mass), re-taped all the windows, re-papered the house, put in a drainage plane and then put new siding up. The plywood sheathing of the house had definitely had some water on it, but it was still solid and there was no exterior evidence of ants on these walls, around these windows. So I had hoped I had repaired any moisture issue...but alas ants appear to be back this spring.
