Love, love your website and your passion about helping others.
I was outside my wood deck today and saw a bunch of carpenter ants wandering around. So I walked to the bottom of the deck and saw even more! I also noticed that the bottom of both sides of the wooden post of the railing (for the steps) are rotten. Not sure there are nesting there. Today is kinda hot and humid day. I poured some Ortho ants killer granules all around and hoping they pick some up and bring it back to the nest. I also saw 2 big ants (one with wings and one without)by the window(outside). I have never seen any inside my house. I have a dead tree which I have had it taken down that has sign of ants invasion. I called Terminix with whom I have a contract with and when the guy saw the tree he straight away confirmed those were termites tunels. He quickly suggested bait stations that would cost about $1,500. My husband did not buy it so I called another pest control firm and he basically told me not to even worried. He said he was pretty confident those were carpenter ants. I have Terminix spray around the perimeter of my house every quarterly and this is the first time I have seen so many carpenter ants out and about. I have called Terminix and the technician will be here this Weds to investigate. Should I be worried about infestation?
Thanks and with best regards,
