"Infested homes?" Not sure what that means. If you mean "any springtails," that's LOTS. Don't believe I've seen many homes that had, like, thousands. Mostly, I see them in new homes, with newly established lawns. Especially ones that have straw spread on the lawns. That's when I would call them "infested." At which point a power spray (to the lawn) might be required. Don't believe we've done that for a couple of years, but we're not the type of company that does willy-nilly spraying of lawns or yards. Some do, we don't.
When any of our regular customers complain about them, and have them like you do, we spray the window sills, and sometimes around the outside, but only with a compressed air sprayer, not a power sprayer. Sometimes I might use the granules, but that's NBD. It is a big deal when they have a new lawn that has straw all over.
Somebody that calls in, and is NOT a regular customer, I tell them what I told you and try to talk them out of any treatment, unless it continues or gets worse. They usually don't, they go away with a chage in the weather. Most are happy not to spend money.
They won't go to your daughter's bed, they will probably stay right on the windowsills. Even if they did, they're harmless. The chemicals are worse!
The exterminator I mentioned should be owned by Patricia Murphy - her husband (Bill, who was my friend) dies a couple of years ago. I'm not sure she's still in charge, but if she is, I do trust her. Another owner, I'm not sure about.
Next thing I want you to do is to sit down and breathe into this paper bag for a few minutes.... And listen to hubby! And maybe take two aspirin and go to bed. lol
